Early one morning, I hiked into the mouth of this canyon with my 8x10 camera and a few holders of film. About an hour after sunrise, the light struck a wall adjacent to this scene, illuminating the canyon in a wash of golden light. I found these three junipers atop a ledge of lighter colored sandstone and made this image with a telephoto lens on a sheet of Velvia 50. The detail in the print is incredible, as the tree on the far right was full of bright blue juniper berries, which glow in the reflected light.
