In order to see the blood moon rising above the Grand Teton, we hiked to this distant alpine lake about 9 miles, arriving a few hours before sunset. We had brought little camping gear in order to maximize our camera equipment and, since it was only an overnight trip, only brought snacks and a few light meals. The evening was wonderful, the mosquitoes were minimal, and the twilight was exactly what I was hoping. Since I didn’t have much of a chance of shooting the moon (it was supposed to rise an hour after sunset), I shot the high clouds glowing at twilight. The Grand Tetons are an absolutely magnificent mountain range and hiking the valley running adjacent to the Grand Teton was a marvelous way to spend a day.
