This photograph was made in early December of 2014 as a blast of winter air pummeled our area in western Kansas. The evening this photograph was taken, the air temperature was a frigid 3 degrees, but the clear skies produced a wonderful earth shadow over one of my favorite places. I’d like to think that if I had built this home many years ago, I would have placed its foundation in exactly the same place. The views are outstanding from the top of this hill, but on evenings like this, it makes me feel ever so fortunate for a heater.
